Nadine Axisa
Nadine, 29, is an established local singer and has been contributing to the local music scene since the age of 15. In 2003, Nadine ventured into the American standards and jazz scene. Her first project that same year was with local musicians where she contributed to the very successful concert and CD launch of “The Beatles Works” interpreting in an acclaimed manner, songs by the famous fab four, arranged in a jazzy style.
Nadine received vocal training in classical music under the tuition of Irene Dillon and later with Beatrice Brogdorff. She also sat for vocal exams with the Royal Schools of Music. In 2007 Nadine followed a jazz vocal course in Italy hosted by the Global Music Foundation. Amongst the tutors of the course were jazz singers Tina May and Iain Mackenzie, and Guillermo Rozenthuler, Argentinean singer, guitarist and composer.
Nadine enjoys interpreting jazz standards, especially latin jazz numbers which remain her all-time favourites. She performed in the Malta Jazz Festival in 2008 and 2011. Nadine performs regularly in top local venues and clubs with various musicians. Her performances outside the Maltese Islands include London, Tripoli, Prague, Oslo and Rome.
Alwyn Borg Myatt
Started singing at a very early age blessed with a Voce Bianca. Joined CARITAS and organised and participated in fund raising events as a young teenager. Backed many artists live in festivals and in recording studios. Took part in Eurovision twice as part of a trio and then as a soloist. Recorded a Christmas CD with trio Angelic 'Angles Voices at Christmas'. Started singing in nuptial masses as soprano. Started singing in hotels and functions with pianists namely Christian Borg and Conrad Briffa. Sang on PBS during a Saturday afternoon show with John Bundy, hosted a radio show on A3 fm, was invited as guest in TV shows and fund raising activities. At the age of 23 I left Malta and lived in Parma, Italy for 6 years. I came back last year and immediately started singing again with my former pianinsts and also with Norbert Borg. Was resident singer in Affari Taghna 2010/11.
Neville Refalo
Neville is an established 33 year-old singer and actor specializing in soft rock, pop and Italian music having an experience stretching back for over 12 years in the musical entertainment. During these last years he participated in countless activities mainly local and foreign festivals as well as activities such as the local Rockestra or Malta Television Awards gaining an esteemed reputation for all his interpretations. He has a very vast repertoire going back to the last 50 years and is very adaptable to all occasions he is invited to ranging from concerts to wedding receptions and other high class occasions
Chris Grech
started singing publicly at the age of 17. His first musical ventures started as a vocalist, guitarist and front-man of a metal band called Kudos Kin, performing regularly at a number of local venues. In 2003, he moved on to a progressive rock band, Twenty-Six Other-Worlds, as a vocalist and front-man. With Twenty-Six Other-Worlds he performed in local rock events and also recorded an album. Chris performs also as a solo artist with acoustic bands and although his musical style is more focused on rock style he is always exploring and open to new ventures and genres of music.
Ludwig Galea
is one of Malta’s most loved pop tenors. He received his early musical and vocal instructions under his uncle, former Maestro Di Cappella of St. John’s Co Cathedral, Rev. Alberto Borg OSA. Ludwig has vast experience and has performed both locally and internationally, as a performer or supporting act. He also represented Malta in various International Concerts including the Eurovision Song Contest and Malta Week in Brussels. He is also a known face on television, as resident singer in popular programmes. Surely, being an outstanding pop tenor Ludwig excels in Musical performances and Operettas.
Mikaela
is a young but very talented vocalist, with a unique voice. She started her musical journey at a very young age attending piano lessons. She has participate in various local gigs, but surely the first big step in her career was recording sessions done at the very well-renowned Sarm Studios West in London. She performed on one of the greatest stages in Naples and also locally with various bands including Xirka Rock but also with light orchestras. Mikaela is also a song writer and this led to a release of her first single “Call Me”. Following this work she was not only nominated as the ‘Best Female Artist’' at The GO Malta Music Awards 2010' but was also awarded as the ‘MMA’s Best New Artist’. Additionally, very ecently, she has been awarded as 'The Vodafone Upcoming Artist 2011' title through performing with her band in an unplugged fashion.
