Alex Bezzina
started his first trumpet lessons at the age of seven. He studied classical music and at the age of sixteen played with the Malta National Orchestra for the first time and he continued to be invited as an extra for six years. Alex’s love for jazz and contemporary music was evident from a young age. Alex furthered his studies at the London Centre of Contemporary Music where he achieved a Bachelor in Music with Honours. Alex composed ‘it’s Time’ and was successfully played by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and himself as a soloist in the Rockestra 2009.
Marc Galea
is a session guitarist and RGT Registered Tutor. Marc started learning classical guitar at age 11 but immediately exchanged it for an electric guitar after hearing Brian May play. In 2001 he produced and presented the innovative successful TV series B'Sitt Kordi on the local Education Channel, where he taught basic guitar and interviewed established guitarists in Malta. Since 2002 Marc started delving into jazz styles. Marc has teamed up with various local and foreign artists and participated in concerts, musicals, and was also part of a local tv series. He also works as a session guitarist in the studio for various local artists.
Adrian Brincat
known as “ir-Russu” is a full-time soloist trumpeter with the Armed Forces of Malta band and has been invited to participate in a good number of concerts organised by several entities including the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2010 he obtained with distinction a Diploma in Jazz (ALCM) under the supervision of one of the prominent local jazz musicians Maestro Dominic Galea from the world renowned London College of Music; which is a first in Malta concerning brass and woodwind instruments. Adrian’s jazz signature has enabled him to be part of pop and rock concerts, involving big bands or orchestra and also remarkable improvised solo parts. Ir-Russu known for his jazz improvisations has participated in various editions of the Malta Jazz Festival and has also been involved in jamming sessions with popular local bands namely Tribali and The Rifffs.
Ivan Borg
is a fervent saxophone player. Ivan started to play the saxophone with various local band clubs at a young age and is a full time member of the Armed Forces of Malta Band. Ivan continued to study and he also enhanced his jazz skills with the assistance of the pianists Joe Debono and Domnic Galea. In 2006, Ivan obtained the LTCL Diploma after several months preparing for it on his own, with no tutoring. Ivan is experienced in various styles of music, including jazz, pop, and classic. Ivan is very versatile and plays within Big Bands, the National Orchestra and also as a solo artist. He was also involved in various musicals, pantomimes, pop and rock concerts.
